My PS3 Will Not Play Back DVD Video Through HDMI but It Will Through Scart!
My PS3 will not play back DVD movies via HDMI but it will play them if I switch the display settings to AV/scart or composite/d-terminal. When I try, my T.V goes blank and says 'No Signal'. It plays games fine through HDMI and plays HD videos from the PS store. Has this happened to you? Can anyone please help me? Thank you.

This happened to myself a while ago. I had a 1080i tv at the time but I never got around to trying to find a solution. I've recently bought a 1080p tv and it works fine with this. Maybe it's a matter of changing some settings.

this could be a handshake issue between the tv and the ps3 it has nothing to do with 1080i or 1080p

Actually I have changed the TV's settings from 1080i to 1080p and everything works fine now. Thank you both for your replys though.
