COnnecting Dell SE198WFP to Ps3

Ok so i got hdmi to dvi...but my screen is 15 pin connectors...so i ran my ps3 thru hdmi to dvi to my pc tower and my screen to my psc tower thru 15 pin watever that is lol..but when i turn the ps3 on nothing happens...it just shows watever im browsing ...is there a setting i have to change?should i turn my pc off? lol some1 please hlep my gf is hogging my 57 inch and im pissed

also is there a way to force games from 720 to 1080?
