Planning to Buy 80gb Ps3 MGS4 Pack

Hi

I'm planning to buy the 80gb ps3 MGS4 pack and i just have few questions.

PS3/game Questions:

MGS4 ps3 pack worth it for $500(USD)?

what are the pros and cons of that pack?

I heard if u want to see the full graphic performance of ps3 you need to have "this" cable and your tv has to be HD or something like that.

is online play free?

what do you need inorder to play online? does it come with the ps3?

in GTA4 online play, how does multiplayer work? I mean like the map is reallly big and how do u play with others?

is there mic for ps3 online play? do i have to buy it seperately?

AND FINALLLYYYY can you please rank this game by how good it was or how bad you want it:

MGS4,devil may cry 4, GTA IV, and Battlefield: bad company.

THanks

It's worth it because the 80GB PS3 is $500 so you get MGS4 for free. Also comes with the DS3 controller.

No "cons" really.

720p/1080i use Component and 1080p use HDMI.

PS3 is free. You will need an ethernet cable for wired or a router for wireless and a USB or Blutooth headset to talk to other players.

I never played GTA IV online but I give SP a 9/10. DMC4 a 6/10. MGS4 a 9/10 and BBC an 8/10.

It depends. Do you have any use for the backwards compatibility of an 80 GB? That's truly the only difference between 80 GB and 40GB, of course there's also the difference in HDD memory, but you can upgrade 40 GB with a laptop Harddrive of like 160 GB and still save money. The other difference I can think of is 4 USB ports instead of 2, but honestly when will you need them all? So in conclusion, if you want to play PS1 and PS2 games on it, get an 80, or else a 40 and buying controllers + MGS4 seperately will be cheaper.

what are the pros and cons of that pack?

Pretty much already covered it, but uh

Pros :: 4 USB Ports, backwards compatible.

Cons :: You're overpaying for that extra 40 GBs which you probably won't even need (I store a decent amount of Movies and Music and even Demos on my 40, and still have 13 GB left). Even if you want 80 GBs of storage, it's cheaper to get a 40 and buy a laptop Hard drive or external USB Hard drive.

Don't be fooled by the extremely cheap price, this cable works like a charm. Any HDMI cable that costs $50+ and claims it has more durable construction or "special gold plated contacts for increased bandwidth" is a scam. And I can vouch for this site since I got my own HDMI cable from here. I live in NJ and got it in less than a week. I think 3 days.

Your TV must be HD too. The PS3 can only output whatever your TV can handle. Don't have an HD TV? Check the back of your TV and see if it has component input, which is like 5 wires instead of 3. If so, then order component cables. Likewise if it has S-Video.

is online play free?

Yep, and it's extremely easy to setup for most people. If you're not too tech savvy and have problems, feel free to make a thread here and I'll see if I can help.

what do you need inorder to play online? does it come with the ps3?

To play online you need a wireless or wired connection. If you have your modem connected to a Router which all the computers connect to, then you're good to go. You select Network settings, the PS3 should auto-detect the signal, and it'll set it up easy. Even if your network is password encrypted, in which case you get a prompt asking you to input the password.

If you only have one computer or all your internet connections run directly to the modem with wired connections, you need to by an ethernet cable (very cheap) and just connect it from your modem or router to your PS3. I've never done this but I imagine it's a similar to the wireless process in terms of PS3 configuration.

in GTA4 online play, how does multiplayer work? I mean like the map is reallly big and how do u play with others?

I'm gonna be completely honest with you, a large amount of GTA players are having problems playing online and can get into maybe 1/10 games they try to connect to. Even with the recent patch Rockstar released, people like me are having problems with it. It should be noted that my online works pretty well on Rainbow Six, only getting a random disconnect once every couple days.

But if you DO get online fine, then you'll have a blast. I haven't played GTA online enough to be sure, but I'm fairly certain that you don't play on the whole map, not on Deathmatch, Race, Cops n Crooks, etc. You play in a cut out section of the city that the host decides. It's really awesome though, I've played a few team deathmatches and one or two Cops n Crooks and they're really all great.

is there mic for ps3 online play? do i have to buy it seperately?

There's one mic that comes bundled with Warhawk, an arcade flight shooter. Supposedly it's not that good though. But whether or not you get Warhawk, you have to buy the mic separately. You can pickup one of those Bluetooth headsets that people use for cellphones for like $15-30 depending on how many functions you want as well as battery life. I used a $20 one that I got free with my cellphone and it works great, I can hear people clearly and people can hear me clearly.

AND FINALLLYYYY can you please rank this game by how good it was or how bad you want it:

MGS4 :: One of the few must buy exclusives on PS3. Amazing experience, amazing production values (literally a movie's worth of cutscenes). Deep, complex story line with plenty of twists and turns. The action is great, very dynamic. You can roam around creeping past enemies or taking them out silently, or you can go Rambo and duke it out with all the enemies. Unlike other games, you can do either and as long as you do it well you'll win. There's online but it's gotten above average to average reviews, so it's not the main focus.

devil may cry 4 :: Awesome action adventure. Note, if you don't like games that challenge you a lot, don't get this. And that's not a taunt or challenge, I'm being serious. If you don't want to die a lot and get frustrated and play the same level multiple times, you honestly won't enjoy this. However, if you are that type of gamer, you'll love this. It's like Ninja Gaiden except a little less finesse and a little more arcade style action.

GTA IV :: Pretty much a must buy. While it honestly doesn't match the amount of exploration and extra things that San Andreas had, the main storyline is GIGANTIC. Also, they really spent their time making interesting, fun missions, rather than drive here in this many minutes, kill these guys, etc. Online I mentioned before so keep that in mind.

Battlefield: bad company. :: You can download the demo on PSN. It looks like its poised to be the new COD4, obviously not as ground breaking or massively popular, but the COD4 crowd seems to be moving to this game. It's very similar honestly, except the online play uses different mechanics. Combat is basically the same though.

It is most definitely worth it and it's going to be the last model with the "Emotion Engine" backwards compatibility chip.

The package comes with:

PlayStation 3 - Atleast worth $200 itself alone.

Dualshock 3 - $49.99

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - $59.99

Blu-Ray - $Expensive

It's worth it!
