Is your monitor HDMC compatible? I've heard that is the problem people are having with hooking up a PS3 to a monitor.

you may need to make sure you have it on the right channel...when you have an hdtv there are some many of the channels (hd,dvi,pc etc) so just make sure its on the right one, also you probaly have already done this but make sure the cables are fully connected both in the tv and in the ps3, i recently bought an hdtv and ps3 and couldnt get a picture either. hope that helps...probaly not though

ya what jeter16 said make sure that it is on the right channel, if there is a input button on the tv remote try that, and than what channel it is on should say in either the left or right corner. also what do you mean a dvi adapter, do you mean hdmi on one side of the plug that goes into the ps3 and than a dvi on the other side of the plug that goes into the tv.

Yeah Jeter and Crispino. There is a bit of a flaw in your answers......HE'S TALKING ABOUT CONNECTING IT TO A MONITOR NOT A TELEVISION!!!!

Why can you not read the threads properly?

Most of the Viewsonic monitors' DVI ports are not HDCP compliant, in other words, you can only use them as computer monitors rather than TV substitutes. Also, you have to make sure you have selected the correct input source, there should be a button at the front of the monitor that lets toggle between sources. (D-SUB, DVI, VGA etc.) However, I am pretty sure your monitor is not HDCP compliant, so if changing the input source doesn't solve the problem, then you probably want to return it and get a HDTV instead.
