Ps3 wont give me picture

After plugging in my Ps3 to my friends JVC LT-46FN97 46" LCD TV watching a blu ray disc, i went home and continued to plug in my ps3 using the regular cables that came into the box to my CRT tv. i spent about an hour plugging and unplugging the wires into my tv, using the ps2 wires, hooking up it to my surround sound and even hooking it up a different tv. all the while i am not recievingand video what so ever. the ps3 is loading fine, green light, and blu e and green light when played with a game. it heats up normal when playing a game. when i say playing a game i mean just running because i cant view the screen. i can hear the ps3 doing the its calculations and stuff. this ps3 has not been dropped or anything, and is adult owned. any idea how i can get it to work?

Hmmm.....Maybe you have to reset the settings you had at your friends house back to your CRT TV.

your doing something wrong with the wires...make sure you have the power cord and the audio and video componet cables (since you have a regular tv) connected to there respective ends. also, i've said this alot on this chat and kind of getting annoyed by it but make sure the channel is correct because that might be whats not giving you picture...crash has a good point as well, when or if you get the picture working go to the settings and check if the visuals are ready for standard definition.

Crash could very well be correct, i shall try the settings today and if needed give sony a call. i remember reading your posts jeter on the wire problem and was hoping that by tinkling with the wires it would help. ill let you both and anyone wlse know of my results and thank you very much for the input. Very much appreciated.
