Hi,

I recently have been trying to connect my PS3 to my wireless router. I have a laptop and that connects with no problems. I followed the step by step instructions, and I found my wireless on the search, but when it does the test it keeps saying "test-failed" - I did notice that it never asks for my wireless router password, only the WPA code that came with it.

I'm not sure what you are entering, but the WPA key IS your password. Unless by "wireless router password" you mean the password that you use for administrating the router or something? In which case none of the devices on your network need that. And if you truly are using the default WPA key then you might as well just disable WPA, since it's not providing much security when it can be instantly cracked with no effort.

Try Rebooting your modem/Router. then reboot PS3 try that.
