HDMI Issues

So I just got an HDMI cable, plugged it into my PS3, plugged it into my TV... and nothing. It recognizes that something is indeed plugged into the HDMI jack but when checking for a signal nothing happens. Any ideas?? Thanks

ok so I figured out my issue but I am now trying to figure out a resolution. I have a blank screen because my PS3 was set up for component cables, well I returned the component cables. So i need a D-pad relative number of buttons to push to get to the settings, then display settings, then to the HDMI function. If anyone could take the time to help me out here I would be forever greatful.

go to your settings and make sure your set on the right cables (that are being used) and then make sure your channel is either on HD DVI or component.

have your component plugs in first go to the display settings and change to HDMI and quickly change the cables.

Hope this helps.
