Will there be any problems in buying games from ntsc regions and playing them on a uk pal ps3, i know that games are region free but they if they sold and designed to work on ntsc consoles there may be problems in regards to using ntsc games on pal televisions.

any help would be much appreciated!

Shouldn't be a problem as long as your TV is NTSC compatible. Most, if not all, modern TV's are. If you're unsure then check the Tv's manual but as a rule of thumb any halfway decent TV that's 10 years old or newer should definitely be able to accept NTSC signals.

btw ps3 games are not region locked but blu-ray films will be. That's what makes the difference between the EU ps3 and other ones.

I know the games aren't region locked, i will be getting a uk ps3 and i have a uk pal tv, bought games from the ntsc regions which are still designed to play on tv's from that region.

Anyway went to local hughes to ask for a bit advice and they ween't much help, had a look on web when i got home to find specs fot the tv, sais that it has ntsc video playback which i think is what it needs.

Hughes said i can take the ps3 down there when i get it to check it works on the tv i will be hiring, as i don't want to be stuck in a contract for 12 mths and a tv i don't use.

Sounds like a good move. It's better to be on the safe side. You say the TV has NTSC video playback. This basically means it can accept the NTSC signal so I think you'll be fine
