ok if so. I got network card on my pc. i run a crossover cable from pc to ps3 and it should work?

What are you trying to do? Share files between them? If that is the case, then I doubt it will work by simply using a crossover cable. Windows File Sharing services will only work with the Windows OS, if you want to share files from Windows machine to another OS that is capable of supporting TCP/IP, then you will have to setup a web server (IIS) or FTP server service on your PC. Theoretically, you maybe able to share something on your Windows machine, make it a FTP or HTTP shared folder, and download it with the PS3's browser, but even if this works, then you will still only get a one side file sharing by default, and you may have to configure the connection and possibly make a control interface (ie: a webpage) for the file archive. Now if you install Linux on the PS3, then your possibilities will become endless.
