Debunked: Euro Backward Compatibility Issues
Joystiq evidently annoyed at the recent flurry of PS3 rumours in circulation have contacted SCEA Director of Communcations Dave Karraker for some definitive answers.
In regards to the European PS3 backward compatibility it all comes down to the launch firmware (or lack of it). According to Karraker, "No firmware update equals no software emulation."
A full list of compatible titles will be released alongside the console on March 23rd along with the Firmware download to make it all possible.
So unless Sony release an early list of titles to retailers there isn't any way of knowing the real listings until that date.
