UK: Retailers Gearing Up For Playstation 3 Launch
Retailers across the United Kingdom are getting ready for the PS3 launch day. Alongside the Virgin Megastores' flagship Oxford Street branch retailers up and down the Country will be opening at midnight to provide customers with the console on the stroke of midnight.
"The launch of the PS3 is going to be huge," commented Jorden Jones, product manager at specialist chain Gamestation - which will be opening over 200 stores at midnight on March 22.
"We are very excited and have been working alongside Sony to create specially modified PS3 concept bays in some of our stores. By opening at midnight our customers can collect and play on their pre-ordered consoles as soon as possible," he said.
"After nearly twenty years in the business I've never known such charged anticipation for a console launch - it's getting a little crazy and we're still over a week away," said Steve O'Brien, veteran independent retailer.

Sadly i opted for an online preorder so i wont be enjoying the midnight antics and subsequent all night gaming? the launch night will provide

Well I too ordered online. I just hope it turns up. I'm working nights next week so I'll definitely be in waiting for it

Just confirmed today that the Game store I've ordered my PS3 from is open at midnight.
I work as an IT engineer and am on call that night so providing I am not working I will be getting my PS3 at midnight, much to the annoyance of my wife!!! 
Roll on Motorstorm all night!!!

I am not sure whether my GAME store opens up on midnight...
If it is, I might pop along! I just looked on my reciept yesterday and my preorder is 188 on the list...
188 is a lot for one shop, right?
Because, on the 23rd I dont finish school till half 1...then wont be in town till about half 2...I don't want my console to be gone!

188, that's ALOT, Good luck!
I have asked my local whether they're stocking scart cables etc, no HDtv yet, but they have no idea what accessories are arriving. I've got an extra sixaxis on order but am wondering whether to wait until one with a rumble comes out.
