Mortal Kombat II downloadable from April 12th

"Get ready to re-live all of the classic arcade action that made Mortal Kombat II a beloved classic. Brought back and available for download exclusively on the PS3, re-experience the classic head-to-head fighting game featuring classic characters such as Sub-Zero or Goro. Players will fight their way through the Outworld and defeat Shang Tsung or battle hidden characters including Jade and Smoke!"

Yup that's right, the classic beat em up MKII will be available to download via the Playstation Store from this coming Thursday.

With an online multiplayer coupled with ten new levels and a leaderboard, priced at only $5 this is a must have download!

I noticed that price in dollars. Are they making it available on UK PSN at the same time?

Doubt it - the last Playstation Store update we were promised turned out to be for U.S only

That was the best Mortal Kombat for the longest time. I also liked the third one. It is really cool that they are offering some of the classics again. That's what I liked about the Wii. Hopefully more games will follow this path onto the network. That is a sweet price, too.

I'm annoyed that the UK PSN hasn't got it yet, and might not for the foreseeable future. MK 2 is the best of them all, a classic. I also heard that SEGA are releasing Streets of Rage on PSN but didn't say when.

I'm slightly interested. Back in the day, I was the Street Fighter fan and my friend was the Mortal Kombat fan. We've spent a lot of hours on MK2 (and MK3), but I think I've had my fill. The novelty of the fatalities has worn off and the series hasn't aged very well. I hope we'll get more arcade ports... preferably from Capcom. I want Rival Schools online.

I remember playing the original MK in the arcades, brilliant. I just hope the Europe PS Store can start actually putting some retro titles on. The site's almost empty compared to other regions
