Here's a nice little surprise to wake up to from Sony - a new firmware download, yay!

The upgrade hasn't officially been released on the Sony site as of yet so here's a quick rundown of the fixes/additions this latest Firmware 1.70 installs.

PSOne downloaded games are now playable on the PS3
Saves from the PS3 can now be used on the PSP (I.E PSOne saves)
Vibration support has been added to emulated PS1 and PS2 titles.
( All older titles now support vibration when you put the disc in your PlayStation 3)

Unfortunately it still seems that you must have a PSP connect to the console via USB in order to allow title downloads.

Ya, Im downloading this right now

I have a PSP, but only the 32MB card. If I connect PSP to the system, will the download store onto the PS3, and not the PSP? (because not enough room for a game on PSP card).

Depends on where you choose to save the data...

If you save it to the PS3, I suppose you can transfer it later on.

Awsome, I can't wait to go home and update mine. ( im at school right now ) But anyways the whole vibration feature is great the only downside is the need for a usb connector for the ps2 controller although i have seen a wireless controller for ps2 and ps1 games that was made for ps3 and it had vibration, but since the ps3 didnt support vibration yet it was pointless. I think i saw it on eBay. Im gonna have to look into it now. Oh and the other day I downloaded my firts ps1 game from the store, demolition derby, to play on my psp so that is good to. Well thanks for the heads up on the new firmware.
