P3Zine are giving a shout out to the top twenty games for the PS3 we can look forward to this year. 2008 looks to be the year that PlayStation 3 delivers a knockout number of triple-A titles, which will set new benchmarks for next-gen gaming, but want to know which ones are the ones to watch (and play)? Look no further, because P3Zine has compiled and ranked the best 20 in its 2008 preview issue.
I’m not so sure I agree with everything on the list, but hey, that’s the fun of having our own gaming opinions. Most of the ones you’d expect are in the Top 20, including Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo 5 and even Lego Indiana Jones, the ordering is likely to prove controversial given they’ve not placed GTA: IV at number one (though I have to agree with this decision).
“Ranking the most exciting games of 2008 for PlayStation 3 was a tough job,” says Editorial Director, Dan Hutchinson. “The quality of titles we’re expecting has never been seen before and our decision not to give the top spot to GTA IV is bound to have some gamers up in arms, but for us, the killer game for the PS3 this year is KillZone 2.”
Gamers can read the reasons for the rankings, as well as the previews of the full Top 20 for 2008 by downloading the free magazine from the GamerZines website. P3Zine is an interactive PDF, requiring only Adobe Reader 8 on Windows to run. You can subscribe to the online magazine at the website. The only thing letting this magazine down is the usual lack of at least one female writer… sheesh.
