We all know that the 80GB PS3 is dead, but what about the rumor of a new PS3 in the offing? According to Ars Technica, an inside source (isn’t it always) has let slip there’s a new PS3 bundle headed our way and it will feature a 120-160GB hard drive and Dual Shock 3 controllers.
Personally I frakking hate it when this happens and early adopters get slapped in the teeth, but overall I guess onwards and upwards is better than being stuck with something too small to hold all your PS3 goodness as the Network expands.
Whether this rumor is true or not remains to be seen. The thing about a rumor like this is that it will probably eventually be true, even if there’s no truth to it at the moment. Eventually it would make sense for Sony to bundle the Dual Shock 3 with a new and larger SKU (Stock Keeping Unit for those not in the know). I guess if Ars Technica wait long enough they’ll be right.
