I admit it–I’m impatient when it comes to gaming. If a new game is out and it’s something I fancy and a publisher hasn’t been kind enough to send it out to me, I’ll head off to the game store, cash in hand. This is a problem for a multi format owning gamer such as myself (and perhaps you). Though you may want a title on the PS3, chances are a lot of the time it will be out on the Xbox 360 before it’s released on the PS3, so if you’re impatient, 9 times out of 10 you’ll get it on the 360 (and by “you’ll”, I mean “I’ll”).
There’s nothing like when a PS3 exclusive hits, there’s no drama, no clashing of conscience, there just IS. You take your cash to the game store, big grin on your face and ask for a title on the PS3, no waiting, no chance of it hitting another format the same day, it’s a truly gleeful experience.
The great news is the PS3 has quite a few exclusive titles rumored including: The Agency (though this is out on Windows too apparently and isn’t due till end 2008 – Early 2009), SOCOM: Confrontation (due out mid this year assuming it doesn’t slip again), My Summer Holiday 3 (nice to see a title without guns or hookers—hopefully it will get a release outside Japan) and of course LittleBigPlanet. The PS3 really needs more exclusives and for cross format titles to be released on the same day as the Xbox 360… at least for impatient gamers such as myself.
