Ya know I’m not sure how to feel about it when I hear news like this twittering away. I’m a very lucky gamer in that I own all the consoles, so for me an exclusive title is no big deal, if I want Ace Combat 6 I’ll get it now on the Xbox 360. So here’s the thing, a lot of people can’t afford / don’t have / don’t want all the consoles, so if you happen to own just a PS3, it sometimes seems to me you’re getting more than a little stiffed when it comes to certain releases… my heart goes out to you.

In this case here there are rumblings that the Xbox 360 “exclusive” Ace Combat 6 might be heading to the PS3. This is both a great thing and a lame thing. It’s great because if you are a PS3 exclusive gamer, you’re getting the chance to play this title. It’s lame because it’s going to have been out on the Xbox 360 for months, if not a year or more by the time you get it. Oh sure they’ll probably throw in a few ‘PS3 only’ levels to appease any irritations you might feel at the wait, but you’ll have waited none the less.

The PS3 does seem to get stiffed now and again with this sort of thing and as a PS3 owner it really irks me, particularly given the previous Ace Combat titles were all PS2. Maybe I’m just in a grump today, maybe I should just be elated I’ll be getting the chance to play a cool game on the PS3, even if it’s been out a year or more on another format when I finally can.
