Sadly it seems we’re going to have a bit longer for Home. According to a new joint press release from SCEA and SCEE, the closed beta testing will continue on through Summer with the proposed open beta not made available until Fall.

It is believed that more users will be invited to the closed beta during this period however. Here’s what the press release had to say:

We understand that we are asking PS3 and prospective PS3 users to wait a bit longer, but we have come to the conclusion that we need more time to refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience than what it is today,” said Kazuo Hirai, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. “Our overarching objective is to provide users with new gaming experiences that are available only on PLAYSTATION Home. Spending more time on the development and on the Closed Beta testing reaffirms our commitment to bringing a quality service, maintaining the PlayStation tradition.

Wow! Still waiting. Looks like I'm gonna go ahead and give up on this one now. This is truly rediculous! If you aren't ready to release it, or even close to ready for that matter, don't talk about it. Sony is looking like a bunch of phonys now. I gotta be honest, I was looking forward to this. Now I could really care less. I've had it with their BS!

sony should just release it now, then patch it as thease "refinements" are made..Publics happy, Sony's happy, problem solved. Isn't that what a beta is for?

I agree with matt and nevertell why the heck should we have to keep waiting for a project that started in 2001!!! that could have just been recoded and released on PS3. I'm starting to believe that their not even far enough in the making of home to say anything good about it. All I see is just "Home will have a swiming pool built in so you can swim with your friends, you can skate with them, you can kick box, etc" CUT THE DAMN BS AND RELEASE IT ALREADY!!!!!!!!!! they have delayed home for 7 years! I think 4 years was enough. If they delay home again then all ps3 gamers should just foget about home and just not care. if they release it dont download it to show sony how much of a idiot they are.

I think that Home is a good idea,and Playstation 3 owners are acusstomed to Dealys now,I don't think this is taking the piss tbh,I want to have a service that is refined and ready to be better than Xbox Live and Wii Channels 100%.If I have to wait a little longer,I can,if you can't then you were never really looking forward to it as much then were you?

Take for example HAZE,this Playstation 3 exlcusive(?) game has been delayed several times over the last year,now it's finally coming out even more people want to get it than before.The fact that something is delayed doesn't make it a "bad" game/system/programme does it?

In my opinion,if you truly loved the idea of Home,and were really looking forward to it,then you should wait.Wait for it's release,because it will only get better in the time it will take to come out now.

My signature is a bit of a bitch isn't it? lol I don't like to get rid of games on my ps3,so I just keep them all.

I hardly play some of those games lol
