For anyone keeping upto date on the upcoming FFXIII and Versus titles here's some brand new info taken from a recent interview with Motome Toriyama and Tetsuya Nomura.

Final Fantasy XIII:

The battle system director will be Toshiro Tsuchida, the same director who worked on Final Fantasy X and creator of the Front Mission series.

The blond guy from the latest trailer will have a humorous fighting style.

There may be a job system but it hasn't been confirmed.

It was reiterated that Final Fantasy XIII will still use the White Engine being developed by Square Enix and will not use the newly acquired Unreal 3 Engine.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII:

The gameplay will be a more realistic version of Kingdom Hearts with third person shooter elements similar to Dirge of Cerberus. Also, the point of view will change depending on the character's equipped weapon.

An airship has been confirmed as being a part of the game.

Nomura says that it would be too much work to do Kingdom Hearts 3 and Versus XIII at the same time, so development on KH3 will wait until FF Versus XIII is complete.

Versus XIII may be the last Final Fantasy Nomura will direct, as he wants to concentrate on the Kingdom Hearts series instead.

I'm sorry if I sound a bit dim, but is FFXIII to be a PS3 exclusive? It could be just what it needs.

FF13 better not have jobs I hated jobs I like in FF10 where you can make the character everything if you spent the time...Move him/her to Black magic, or Blue Magic or even White Magic...Make him/her a warrior, theif.....Or all of them!!!

Loved the sphere grid. First playthrough of FF10 didnt get it though....But second was more fun!
