Europe: Over 1,000 PS2 Games Are Compatible
The recent news regarding the PS3's backward compatibility, Sony's Phil Harrison has spoken out to try and shed some light on the issue and re-assure future European PS3 owners.

In an interview with Threespeech.com, Harrison mentioned that, "The situation is changing every day, but on March 23, we expect the list to include over 1,000 PS2 titles."

Mr. Harrison also promises that an online list of backwards compatible games will be available on March 23, and that it will grow with every PS3 firmware update.

Hopefully these comments will help to diffuse a certain amount of criticism aimed at Sony from European customers.

I have about 20 ps1 games so I hope mine are included on that list of 1000 compatible games.

With a bit of luck they'll reserve the 1000 for the top publishers

Some upscaled San Andreas wouldn't be half bad
