Everyone that makes an RPG these days is always banging on about how they’re redefining the genre and all that, but for once SEGA may have produce a game that lives up to the hype with modern-day espionage RPG Alpha Protocol.* The game is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, and will launch in Europe on May 28th 2010 for the PS3.



With a storyline lifted right out of today’s headlines, Alpha Protocol brings a new level of modern-day realism to the RPG genre. Your job, as rookie spy Michael Thorton, is to track down those responsible for a murderous missile attack on a passenger plane, a mission that leads you to uncover an international arms-dealing conspiracy. The game leaves it up to you to decide who you befriend, trust or kill, with your choices having repercussions on the wider gameplay.



The RPG elements of the game revolve around the customisation of Thorton’s character, as players have complete control over the development of his abilities and interactions with other characters. Customisable character skill-sets, attributes and weapons all play an important role in allowing gamers to tailor Thornton to their own personal playing style.
