Ditto, I have the same set up as you and would love to get connected.

I think he is referring to a wireless connection, but if you just want the wired connection, then go and get a router...

Ok, i have bought the router, plugged it in the way it should be and now it has passed the first test: OPTAIN IP ADDRESS: SUCCEEDED. But when it comes to the next one: INTERNET CONNECTION it comes up as failed, with an error that follows. "An error occured while resolving the name with the server.
I sure hope someone can help me.
TIA

Ok , you must go into the router configuration and enable the "clone MAC address" option and clone your computer MAC address on it. Most of the routers do have this option. Please refer to your router's manual to enable this feature.

Im completely clueless, can i explain the wiring i have set up.
I have an ethernet cable coming from the modem into the WAN port on the router, then I have the ps3 ethernet cable in socket 1 on the router going into the ps3 itself.
Do i need to have it set up any other way.
Thanks once again

The hardware setup is correct, but like I said, you wil have to configure the router... Do you have a Windows computer connected to the router? If you do, you can simply type in the "http://" followed by the internal IP address of the router on a web browser to enter its configuration page. Do you have any documentations that came with the router? There should be instructions there... Let me know if you still can't figure it out and I'll try to help you.
