Playstation network doesn't connect

hi, just wondering if anyone is having the same problems as me connecting to the playstation network?

I thought it might be because the network is busy, but I'm not sure?

I get to complete the the stages for registration, ending with the congratulations you have set up your account screen. However on this screen when I click on continue things just time out.

I've tested the connection settings I can get internet connection and an IP address, but connection to the playstation network fails. I've also recieved the notification email from the playstation network that I have registered.

If I try to sign in all I get is a message -An error has occurred. You have been signed out of playstation network (80710B23).

I've done some searching on the internet for clues, and have tried the suggestions for opening ports on my router but no luck. I've even tried the last resort of setting the PS3 as the DMZ machine on my router, but still no luck.

Not sure what is going on, as my mate bought his PS3 the same time as me, he got home and set his up the same time as me and his worked fine, and still works fine--- he only lives a couple of miles from me, so very strange what is the problem!!!!

Any thoughts out there?

network just flooded go do some thing else for a little while and try agian later

Im having a similar problem, i have made my account and that went fine, as for playing online the connection keeps timing out, the internet browser works fine though

dont have any answers for ya but ps3 will connect to internet browser and ps networks and all that but won't let me play online games....says it can't connect to server. its enough to drvie a person crazy

My problem is the same. Connection tests fine, browser works, network times out.

Very frustrating for a newbie consoler.

Do any Sony tech support reps peruse this site?
