First of all Hi there, i have a new ps3 that i connected up yesterday. I have stumbeled across this PS3 forum and i hope you can advise me on a problem.
I have made a live on line account and the internet works well via wire less ect.
But every time i try to go on playstation on line live, after i have put in my pass word there is a pause while its conecting. Then after a few seconds the message, "the connection playstation@network has timed out". What!!!
Why is it doing this please? All the sign up details ect are there but its doing this.
Can anybody help please? Or am i forced to continue going on live with my Xbox 360

Maybe the PS Network servers were down? If you have have a good Internet connection, then I don't see why you can't log on. I know if you are using a router, then you may have to forward a few TCP and UDP port for gaming, but I was not aware of any port forwarding for authentication... Try the connection tomorrow and see if it works, if it still does not work, connect your PS3 directly to your Cable/DSL modem and see if that works, this way we can isolate the problem.

Thank you very much for your responce my friend. Yes we use a router. Although i forgot to say i am in the UK which has only had the PS3 for 6 days, so maybe there is a problem with the UK connection.
I can however i can sign in to the store and have down laded the sample GT HD. I will try again tonigh and keep you informed. thanks again.
