SORRY I am new so I apologise if I have broken any rules or placed this in the wrong section I am still learning

I just got my PlayStation 3 today and firstly as SO disappointed That I had miss understood and thought HOME was already out

DO YOU KNOW WHEN? Or am I missing it on my PS3?

Also can I browse the Internet on my PS3 like eBay and myspace stuff like that? as I tried and it says page not found PLEASE HELP ME Im all connected to the Internet fine as I was able to see players in game chat rooms.

Hello Kaytee!

First of all, welcome to the forums

Anyway, HOME will not be released for the Playstation 3 until September. When that time comes, HOME will be available as a free download via the Playstation Store.

I know it's going to be a long wait, but it will be worth it. I mean, we have managed to wait this long for the actual console...an extra 5/6 months won't hurt *pulls hair out in frustration waiting for HOME*

And indeed, you can browse the internet. I have read in other forums that you can view myspace etc, although some streaming music/videos might not work.

I'm sure that you will be able to view ebay as well...however, I'm not sure that you will be able to buy things...sorry, I don't really know much else!

Home is a virtual community for PS3. It's like Second Life or the Sims (without the needs or goals). You create an avatar which gets a room (or even a house) and you furnish your place with stuff you get from the PS Store or even games. Home will allow you to meet up with other people online, a good way to setup online matches and such. It'll add a trophy system (like Xbox Live's achievements) to games and you can invite other people to your pad. Apparently you can even show pictures and movies from your virtual TV. I'd imagine that'll mean people will get to showcase their collection of pr0n... fap, fap, fap, fap, fap...

Anyhow, closed beta for Home starts in April. Open beta will begin in August and up until Home goes live in October.

Any ideas on how to get on that closed beta list? Had a mate on the PS2 beta for years, he got so many games out of it!

I would assume you can register at http://www.homebetatrial.com or they might pick some from their Gamer Advisory Panel.

ahhh October September tooooo long

but I guess I can wait, I am a major sims 2 fan so I will be interested in this!
I tried to browse the Internet for eBay and myspace it wont work

How do you have your PS3 wired up? Are you going through a router? If you are, then can you access those sites through your computer? This sounds like it could be a DNS lookup issue. See if you can browse to these sites by their IP addresses. I have listed their WAN IP below, so just click on these links from your PS3.
