you should be able to. i take it you're gonna disconnect the cable from your computer and plug it into your ps3 whenever you play ps3....should work and won't do any harm except tire you out from all the switching i was thinking of doing that but i had a router and decided to use that instead....

i have a playstaton 3 japan version , can anyone help me to get online with is i messed with some of the settigs but it really did me no go any and all help would be great im so lost!!

Depending on the type of modem and your ISP restrictions. If you have a 56k or an USB modem instead of a Ethernet (DSL or Cable) modem, then you will not be able to connect directly to the modem. In addition, if your ISP only allows your computer to connect to the modem by using MAC address filtering, then you will not be able to get any connections with your PS3 through your modem. Try it out if it doesn't work then get a router.

ok i have a dsl line for my computer i see that you say i would have to get a new router or a ip addres?? aso does anyone have a ps3 from japan and if so how did you get online with it?
