For real:

The PS3 is a very powerful pc that can do much more operations per second than a regular pc, so this is ver useful for doing complex algorithms, like the one used to decompose or "fold" proteins. By suscribing to the Folding@home project you are "donating" ps3 usage to some university to help science and discover more properties of this proteins and maybe cures for known diseases.
