Wired Connection Probs Via Optus
Help Obi Wan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok guys, I really need someones help here! I can't be the only one with this problem. I am attempting to gain access to the net via my PS3. I have a connection with Optus that runs via a cabled Siemans 4200 Speedstream adsl modem. I am using the ethernet cable to connect the PS to the modem then the modem connects to the phone line via a normal phone cable. I might just point out that this connection works fine with my laptop but via a USB cable. I have been through all the suggested steps the Sony supply but I keep getting a connection failure and the dialog says that there is error '8071012 problem resolving the name with the server'. What the!!!!!! I've tried entering the IP address, Subnet, DNS etc etc manually but it still comes up with the same error?? I'm at my wits end here!! I just want to play online. I've tried resetting the modem but STILL get nothing. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!! Cheers in advance if you have the solution!
