I've had the same problems, only solution I've had was to keep trying to connect. It will sometimes allow me to join, actually eventually you can get on most games just takes time. I try and join games that have 18 or more people and it can take ages to get onto these games.
I've also been on games where someone insists on TK'ing, completely ruins a game I'll usually leave. I know of no way of kicking these players just have to put up with it.
