PS3 Online help..

I have Telewest Broadband, and I want to know how I can get my PS3 online. Do I have to get wireless broadband? Or can I somehow wire my current connection to directly to my PS3? Oh and if you can wire it what wire do you need and where can you buy it? Btw... I'm totally oblivious to all this internet technology so don't blame me if this seems like a silly quetion...

Wireless router is one way. If you want to do it wired you'll need to first make sure that your router has a spare LAN connection on it (small hole that you can just about fit your little finger in¹). You'll the need to get some 'CAT5' cable (avalible from any computer shop²)with a RG45 connection. Plug one end into the PS3 and the other into you router. Then go to network settings and set it all up with the on screen instructions.³

¹ Depending on how fat your fingers are

² Currys, Comet, local PC store maybe even ASDA?

³ I never did mine wired but it can't be that hard

Assuming your router is configured correctly you just plug the RJ45 cable in and away you go.

Wireless is def one way to go but RJ45 is always preferable if possible as its more steady and quicker most of the time.

I doubt you'll be able to use what you already have as telewest provide just a USB cable modem and that has not RJ45 Ports. Try this - its by far and away the best router available at the moment. And you need to make sure you get a Wireless Modem Broadband Router - not just router as they are different.
