No I havent tried it that way...Ill do that later. BUT...if I press the PS button and select "turn controller off" then as soon as I see the red lights go off on the controller my Wifi returns to normal and the page that I was opening but was taking a long time to load (i.e it was a white screen and it said "website found waiting for reply" in the status bar), instantly loaded once the control went off.

It doesnt matter if my PS3 is online or not. The thing is I cant really put the PS3 online by WiFi because I need the PS3 controller and it interferes with WiFi! I mean...it does work but it keeps disconnecting or I get a really slow connection with lot of lag.

i cant can not Bluetooth and WIFI are on total diff frez. they can not interfere with ea other it phcily imposable they jsut cant you may want to make sure to remove and devices away from your route that use alot of electrice"sp" or that have magnets in them those will mess it up trun the WIFI on your ps3 to off if that messing up or your routers messed up with the ps3 then thata would srew it up
but if you have the controle wierd and it still messed up then it either A. you internet provder only allows one device connnected to the internet B. you need a new ps3"not cause of the contorler" or a new router C. call sony or your ips or the computer or some one no one here it going to be any realy great help you jsut asking the wrong poeple

Thanks for the reply. What do u mean when u say the router does not "support" Bluetooth?
I just connected the controller by a cable and my internet works fine. As soon as I disconnect the cable, the internet on my laptop slows riiight down. I guess I will have to get a new router-modem. |

Yes Bluetooth can interfere with WiFi. They both use short range Radio Waves at a frequency of 2.4GHz. It's not common but possible. I would buy another router if I were you or try moving around a bit.

Ok well that is good to hear that its theoretically possible for the two to interfere. Is there any wireless modem-router u would recommend for PS3 and 2 laptops to connect to?

Not that it matters but I third the opinion of it being your router or ISP.
Try some other wireless devices if you have them and see if they kick you off. By the way who is your ISP? With my ADSL sometimes I notice that I get kicked offline when a phone call comes in, but that was because of a bad line. It could very well be your ISP/modem and the router combined. I'm not sure how your internet is set up, depending on the case a possible solution would be copying the MAC address of the laptop when it is connected directly to the modem. Then paste the MAC address into the router MAC address cloning option. This allows you to fool the modem into thinking only one device is connected. Or you could look into Verizon FiOS!!!! affordable fiber optic, sexy time! Last edited by SlickRick51586; 06-27-2007 at 01:02 PM. |

Well I have 2 laptops connected wirelessly to the modem/router, and the internet on both of them slow to a snails pace as soon as the PS3 controller is turned on (and connected wirelessly - when its wired the internet works fine).
My ISP is PlusNet (its English).. As for what u said about copying MAC address...I have no idea what that is so Ill leave that be! Thanks anyway |

DSL.
I have a Netgear DG834PN wireless modem-router. To be honest besides the current problem it does work very well. It was so easy to set up and the connection never drops. |

you can call them and have them test your line just to rule out the ISP. That and it should be fairly easy for them to rule themselves out as they do all the work.
It is prob the router, you could buy a different brand or borrow someone else's see if it helps, if not just return it. Just giving you some ideas /shrug... |
