only cat 5 is crossover and will work.Cat6 is the cable suplied with ps3 it will wont

can you elaborate on that?

Why won't cat6 work?

Edit:

.....so basically a cat6 will work if you are connecting your PS3 to a switch, hub or router.

cat 5, 5e, 6 are specifications of sheilding, they can be crossover but none of them are cross over by default.

This seems to be right. Also if I'm not mistaken, Cat5 and 5e are capable of 100Mbits/s whereas Cat6 is capable of 1000Mbits/s
