Does the newest system update take you forever?

Well, I've never had an update take more than an hour, but this newest update has been downloading for going on two hours and is only at 19%. I don't think it's my connection because all previous updates have gone at a decent pace. Anyway, anyone else have this problem?

Nope. had to do two system updates yesterday (for some reason) and it took me 30 minutes to do both.

If you just got a ps3 for chritmas and your updating it, its gonna take alot longer than normal becuase the ps3 has missed lots of updates so it needs to cram them all in. People who have always had them since launch have done them in short intervals.

I've had my PS3 since launch, just haven't touched it in months. I'm trying to d/l it wirelessly, but man this thing takes literally forever. It goes up maybe a percent every 10 minutes.

Exactly that means you have missed many updates and/or you could have a slow internet connection, i suggest going on to the sony website then downloading the latest update via flash memory stick, iv been told that way is quicker.

I have RR Cable internet, I'm running it wirelessly though. I've never had an update take longer than 15 minutes so I'm sure it isn't my connection, it's just every update I missed. But, it did time out at 50% last night, so if it does it again I'll be forced to buy a USB Memory Stick.

It timed out again, why does it do that? It takes forever to get to 50% then it times out at around 53%.

I haven't updated in ages due to the fact that I really don't wanna go through the whole arduous task of setting up the network again. I might do though, when Burnout comes out.

I had the exact same problem...took ages to download the latest update. Now since then, I have been experiencing extremely slow downloads...definately something to do with the new update,..
