What do you guys think about PS3 online and Xbox 360?

I have played both online, and so far I really like the Xbox better. For some reason It seems more planned out; With the achievement points and such. Do you think that Playstation 3 will eventually be better?

First of all, don't post Xbox related here, do it in the Game talk or whatever is called.

As for the online, xbox 360 has the upper hand... but not for long. It's achievement point are usless, but they only show how good you are. Plus you have to pay, which kinda sucks but it's your choice. You apparently do get a good service.

As for the PS3, it's improving. Just wait till it gets HOME, it's gonna kill Xbox Live. I mean proper 3D! you can talk to other people, have your own room with your own downloaded stuff! and the best bit is, you get trophies as achievments! and obviously you can put it in your own room

Yeah they have already planed achievements and in game XMB. It will slowlt take over.

How are the achievements pointless? I know i would want them its something to try and beat your friends at etc.

but thats all their worth rob, to show that your better. I thought gaming was about to be having fun? Sure you may have a bit of rivalry here and there, but to me, it just seems pointless

At the moment xbox online is way better. It has a better community feel. But with HOME coming that might change.

the only thing xbox live has over psn is the in-game xmb

but soon psn will have in game xmb so screw xbox live, psn is free

One thingy I do like about XBOX live is the ability to purchase and download movies. My cable provider has the "movies on demand", but the movies there are always new releases, sometimes ya just want to find a good ol slasher pic, xbox live usually has something worth watching!!!!

That said, when is PSN gonna get they ability to dowmload movies / tv shows / music?? Seems like its already set up to do it, so just do it already.......

I am paying about $7/month or so for xbox live and $0/month for PSN, and they seem about the same as far as quality (reliable connection, etc) with the one exception that there are usually more players online on xbox live. Which usually isnt a problem as there are always a ton of players on psn for any particular game, just if you want to find a good match for a semi-obscure older game like FEAR or something, its easier to find one on xbox live.

Worth an extra $7 a month?? Probably not to me, but my kid loves a lot of the xbox games (halo3, gears, etc) so what the heck.

You guys really think Home will steal the show?? So wondering around in a 3D world full of strangers where no will be bothered to talk to each other is more fun than playing games online? If you want to try Home now, download Second Life onto your PC and see for yourself, virtual worlds maybe the future of www but its not going to be more fun than playing games.

True, but ill use home to find people to play games with. i wont be walking around all day, only some of it

you have got to remember that x-box live has had a head start over psn.i think (and hope) that this year is gona be good year for playstation3

I think home is gonna be cool. I don't know what live is like, never tried it. I happen to think that free is good. I like psn, and its just the begining. Home will add alot of usefullness. True it seems alot like second life on the pc, but that setup was way to complicated for people who don't know how to use a computer very well. The thing about the ps3 is, the user interface is so friendly. Pretty much anyone will be able to use it. I don't think people will just be walking around not talking to each other. I mean you'll be able to type messages live, or use a headset and talk live. People are gonna love it. That's my opinion anyway.

What is Home?

The only thing I dislike about PSN is the trouble you go through to invite friends to your party and vice versa. Too many error messages. I love thats its free though so Im satisfied.
