Ok I've spent the last few hours reading a million threads trying everything they suggest to no avail. I have Comcast internet service, Arris cable modem, from there to a older Linksys router. I have my ethernet cable coming out of the router to the PS3. I run through the setup menu and get it all setup. It does the test and it successful in obtaining the IP but fails on the internet connection. Error code 8010102 DNS Server Problem. I've tried rebooting everything, even manual input of my IP address etc. Nothing works. I have a few games that I have been dying to play online.

Any advise?

try and put the ethernet cable from modem straight in to ps3 if ya hard wiring ya dont need router and go set up select easy and voila done off ya go m8

OK I will try that, I thought you had to have a router. I personally would like to use the router so that I can keep my computer online while the PS3 is online.

ok if ya get it sorted by hard wiring it but want router as well go set up page and configure it there m8 if that dont work try a new router look at the router settings for dns and other things and manually asign them on ps3 go to linsky site if ya havin trouble bound to have help on set up there m8 ok

I have comcast and linksys wt150n. I did the "easy" and bam...it works fine.
Like gino said keep the router and computer on and just plug the PS3 in to the modum.

A server error is the game server is it not ? what game ?

Comcast sucks thats your problem right there and even with comcast you should get some better internet service by hooking it straight to the modem and ps3

I've had problems with DNS errors b4. I couldn't get the latest update for call of duty 4. Then I hard wired it to my modem and it downloaded.
