hey all .. just got my ps3 and im trying to set it up online... i dont have a rounter and im trying to just connect my ethernet from my modem straight to my ps3 and it is giving me dns errors and not obtaining an ip address... anyone know how i can set up my network without a router?

also i 2 ethernet ports in my computer so even if anyone knows how to get an internet connection to my ps3 through my pc would be greeat.....

i just unplugged my ethernet cable from computer,and then plugged in ethernet from PS3! should have no problem recognizing. maybe try changing NAT type to type 1 (wired connection) as opposed to NAT 2 or 3 (routers)

I'm stumped but maybe its your modem it just doesn't recognize it so change the settings of internet on the ps3 and you be good Other suggestion:get a router
