right basically i must be an idiot, because i can not get my ps3 online!

so i will tell you what i have, and if you coulf offer me a solution that would be great

talktalk 2.2 meg internet
ethernet cables
talktalk modem

i dont have a wireless router or intend on getting one, so if anyone knows how i get connected using that then pleaseee help!

A little info on whats happening would be good mate. What happens when you try to put it online.

well i go through the setting up process, and when it comes to the connection test, it cant find my IP or a connection, even though the ethernet cable is connected from my ps3 to the back of my computer. i thought i might of had to plug the ethernet cable into my modem, but there isnt anywhere on the modem that ethernet cable fits into..

i realise the ps3 has wifi, and found something on ebay that supposedly works, what do you think?

I'm preety sure that if your connecting your ps3 to the pc you need an ethernet crossover cable not the one supplied by sony. Then its just a case of setting up connection sharing

I'm not as sharp as some but .......I don't think you can go through your computer. You need a router. I/M/O

You can go through your pc as that is how i used to before i got my wireless router
