Can't Sign into Playstation Network,error Code 80710B23

Hi people, i have a BIG problems and hope someone out their can HELP please...
Have been using my PS3 for 6 months now and no problems, however yesterday (18-04-08) i could not sign in.I went to the "playstion network" icon on the menu bar, clicked on the "sign in" icon, up came my "sign-in e-mail address" and my "password" (all auto filled in correctly), so i clicked the "sign in" tab at the bottom and it came up with "signing in please wait" ,however after 10 seconds i got a message saying "an error has occurred. you have been signed out of PLAYSTATION r NETWORK. then the error code 80710B23.
It has been doing this since last evening.I have spoken to "tech help Sony" who passed me onto a games helpline, who helped me open "new ports", BUT ,this still hasn't solved the problem and im still logged out...
Starting to loose faith in the PS3 now as my sons PS3 is being exchanged on monday due to an optical eye problem....
CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME ,even if its to say its knackered or Playstation network are having problems.
I have tried "updating" the software, but it says its up to date, im running version 2.30.

I'm actually having the same problem. I think it has to do with my router. i can go on google on my playstation internet but it won't let me sign in. i tried setting the MTU from 1500 to 1492 and that did nothing. Can anyone help us?

It does sound like your router is to blame.have you tried connecting the ethernet cable for a wired connection?r u with sky out of interest?
Myine does the same thing from time to time but usually comes back.
Could the router be picking up any interference from a cordless phone or something?sounds stupid but its a question i got asked when mine was acting up.

It was the router, i took the BELKIN N1 MIMO bak 2 PC world and they exchanged it ,no probs..Got it home set it up, started online straight away...
Very weird ,but, GREAT.....

Hey all, try disableing the Media server in network settings, working for me so far, cos i recently connect my laptop too my ps3 and have been having the problem ever since.... tell me if it work folks

I'm havin the same problem with my ps3.. Its sounding like something wrong on their end... where is the network based out of?? Japan?? just askin... I'm goin to try the unplug everything and see wat happens... anyone with a solution please leave message!!

My brother was just playing online and now when I try to sign into the network I'm getting error code 80710A06 on both of our accounts. The Internet connection is at 100% and I have no idea what is wrong.

It's happening to me too, I don't have any idea why it's happening. I've been trying to get on to LittleBigPlanet2 online all morning, I don't think it'll be on until some other time of the day..

I can't sign in either! It happened a couple days ago, and what happened was when I signed in, I waited about 10-15 seconds and it said "An error has occured. You have been signed out of PlaystationNetwork." And some number (80710A06) came up, and all I had to do to fix that was sign in again and it would work. But NOW I can't sign in at all, and I have no idea why.
